Roundup - Week 7

 

8th grade

Tier 1

 

Dylan Damiani scored with 20 seconds left to give Lynnfield a 5-4 decision over Windham – Joe Raffa with a hat trick in the win and Ross two goals in the loss; and North Reading’s Luke Baker and Westford’s Matt Mulhern swapped goals in a 1-1 tie.

 

Tier 2

 

Christian D’Agostino pitched a shutout and Blake Stuzynski scored two goals and set up another in Bedford’s 3-0 victory over Groton/Dunstable; George Mackinnon wore a second-period natural hat and Matt Poirier had two assists as Cambridge topped Sanborn 7-4; Scales ended Mercer’s shutout bid with nine seconds left to give Lincoln/Sudbury a 1-1 tie with Woburn – Parise with an early goal for Woburn; and Fitzpatrick wore a natural hat and Tanaki had two assists in North Andover’s 4-1 win over Winthrop.

7th grade

Tier 1

 

In the only game, Will Costa, who also had an assist, scored what turned out to be the winner with 5:20 left and Adam Priest also had a goal and an assist as Billerica edged Wakefield 3-2 — Aidan Martin and Nick Brissette assisting on both goals in the loss.

 

Tier 2

 

Bodie Marcotte scored five goals and handed out two assists, Ben Richard scored twice, Owen Brannelly delivered a goal and an assist, Jamie Gray also had two assists and JR Bona and Nicki Boothroyd shared the shutout in Amesbury’s big win over Newton; and Matt O’Connor had two goals and an assist as Melrose downed Saugus 5-1.

 

Tier 3

 

Pat Nugent’s fourth goal of the game, with 4:06 left, was followed by Anthony Cordaro, who added to an earlier assist with the tying goal with 1:22 remaining as North Andover pulled out a 6-6 victory over Windham – Keegan Norton with a hat trick and two assists and Houston Hurt a goal and a helper for Windham; Slater O’Connor, who also had an assist, scored the winner in the second period as Timberlane shaded Everett/Mystic 3-1; and Kassidy Carmichael and Ethan Murphy both wore hats, Carmichael adding an assist, and Gerald Hsin had two goals and a helper in Westford’s 9-3 triumph over Melrose – Charlie Hoskim with two goals and an assist and Nick Burke two assists in the loss.

6th Grade

Tier 1

 

Logan Rogers scored the winner with 7:14 left as Dracut edged Methuen 3-2 – Gavin Henry with both goals in the loss; and Luke Horenstein wore the hat and had an assist, Cooper Dunham came through with two goals and an assist, Lucas McKenna had a goal and an assist and G. Baldassere pitched a shutout as Danvers scored a big win over Wakefield.

 

Tier 2

 

Evan Karacek’s second goal of the game, with 50 seconds left, gave Chelmsford a 4-3 decision over North Andover -- and James Lovell-Lynch scoring twice in the win and Matt Donovan wearing the hat in the loss; Quigley, who finished with two goals and two assists, scored with 19 seconds left to give Stoneham a 10-9 decision over Medford, despite five goals by Rotondo, two of them 13 seconds apart -- Sweeney with four goals and an assist and Taranto two goals and three assists in the win and Esposito two goals and three helpers and Romano a goal and an assist in the loss; and Colin Fidler scored two goals and set up two others, Logan Boven wore the hat and Henry Mills had a goal and an assist in Beverly’s big win over Reading.

 

Tier 3

 

In the only game, Alex Russell scored five goals and Will Everett also wore a hat in Newton’s 10-2 victory over Lynn.

5th Grade

Dan Hanafin scored five goals, Katherine Geswell delivered two goals and an assist and Brandon DeRosa had a goal and an assist in Burlington’s 8-3 victory over Merrimack Valley; Beede wore the hat and M. Burns and John Taylor both had a goal and an assist as Wakefield Red topped Chelmsford 7-2; and Taylor scored five goals and Chase Kaufman added a goal and two assists as Wakefield Grey topped Amesbury 6-2 – Evan Murphy with a goal and an assist in the loss.
